About
the Coalition:
The
Utah Energy Conservation Coalition is a statewide non-profit
organization whose purpose is to provide opportunities for the
citizens of Utah to receive energy education, take advantage
of special energy financial mortgage programs, and to encourage
energy conservation and efficiency in all areas of the housing
industry.
Our Mission:
Our time and efforts are organized and designed in such a way
as to provide the training and resources necessary to empower
individuals and organizations to take specific actions that
will allow them to have increased control over their comfort,
costs and consumption of energy.
Why was the Utah Energy Conservation Coalition Created?
The
Utah Energy Conservation Coalition was organized in 1990 as
a training and resource oriented non-profit organization. At
that time there was a perceived need for an independent organization
outside of the state and local governmental entities to provide
sound energy efficiency and conservation training and resources
in the state of Utah.
The
Coalition does no lobbying nor does it engage in propaganda.
Instead of trying to cover all areas of energy issues in the
state, the Coalition was structured to strives to provide sound
and reliable independent information on residential and commercial
energy issues (such as building code compliance and interpretations,
Home Energy Ratings, and whole house energy audits for example)
that are of concern to the citizens of Utah and throughout the
Mountain-West.
Over
the years, our purposes have change very little. The need for
an independent organization such as the Coalition remains high
in the energy industry. We have established a tradition and
reputation for quality work and dependability. We pride ourselves
on maintaining our independence and constantly strive to enlighten,
educate and stimulate public and private dialogue pertaining
to the energy issues of today.
What
does the Coalition ‘Believe In’?
At the Utah Energy Conservation Coalition we have six core beliefs.
They are:
1. We do what we say, and deliver on our promises in a professional
manner.
2. We work to be on the cutting edge of energy efficient resource
management training and education in the state as well as the
mountain-west.
3. We prize honesty in our staff and in our interaction with
our clients and associates in the industry.
4. We value a family friendly work environment and fully realize
that the work is not our ‘life.’
5. We respect individuality and creativity both in our staff
and our clients.
6. We believe in having as much fun as legally allowed
